The music is a fools mass, that is each
musical number is connected to one of the parts of the
Gregorian mass (from Introitus to Invocatio) but the
melodies are manipulated with a parodistic intention.
As the Gospel was translated into every language and
so everybody could understand it, the theatre went out
of the church and became popular.
And the accordions are the most folk
musical instrument!
